Steamboat 2018

After Christmas, we took our little family to Steamboat Springs to play in the snow.
We all loved the condo . . . especially Wylie.
(although having all three girls in one bedroom NEVER worked out)
One fun surprise about the condo: it had the next Harry Potter movie we needed! So Ramona, Mika, and I had a Harry Potter Movie Night while we were there.
For our first day we got all bundled up to go tubing at Saddleback Ranch

Day two was ski day. Paula and Wylie went to daycare, Ramona and Mika went to ski school, and Forest and I got a little bit of us time on the slopes.
It was an extremely cold day . . . in fact, I got so cold, I couldn't stop shaking, so at one point we had to take a break from skiing and huddled up in a restaurant to try to warm up. Apparently, I must have looked really bad, because a security guard came over and escorted me to a back room that was supposedly warmer than the waiting area of the restaurant.

The afternoon was better--but we got a couple of calls from the daycare about Wylie refusing to eat and whining a lot. We ended up having to pick him up from daycare early, but got to ride the gondola first.
A few pictures of the girls at the end of their ski school:

At some point on this trip, we also visited the Old Town Hot Springs. We were were worried it would be too cold, but the visit was a surprising success.

The drive home was beautiful: snow-covered pines in a winter wonderland. Despite our reservations about attempting this kind of trip, it ended up being well-worth it.
