2015 Hiking Review

One big blog post with all of this year's hikes (minus Jackson Hole)

April 11: Bobcat Ridge
Paula was a still fairly new to walking at this point and felt a little uneasy about the dirt trail on her feet.
Mika loves her Daddy
Our baby girl was a lot more confident hiking on the paved part of the trail. We loved watching her wobbly little scamper on the way back to the car.

June 6: Horsetooth Falls
A wet spring meant lots of pretty flowers and a gushing waterfall for this hike.

 June 20: Dream Lake
Finally a trek to our beloved Rocky Mountain National Park!
There was plenty of snow to play with as we neared the lake.

June 30: Horsetooth Rock
After living in Colorado almost four years, I finally made it to the top of our local landmark: Horsetooth Rock. Forest and I got to climb it as a "date hike" one morning while my parents were visiting.
Gorgeous views--it felt like we were on top of Fort Collins.

July 3: Lily Lake
Forest once captioned this photo: "Have Blankie, Will Travel."
Our family did the bonus "Lily Ridge" hike before circling the lake.
Those are some lucky ducks, to swim in a lake like that.

September 5: Alluvial Fan
Labor Day weekend was a little overcast, but we still found some outdoors to enjoy.

September 26: Bierstadt Lake
Autumn colors are always breathtaking at Rocky Mountain National Park. We went at just the right time to see them this year.
Our family had tried this trail before and never made it to the destination lake. We didn't make it to the lake this time, either, but it didn't really matter--there was plenty to see along the way.
Forest did something fancy on the camera for the photo below--it really made the colors pop.
Shuttle bus ride back to the parking lot
So long for now, Colorado trails! Hope to see you again, soon.
